IKO gives training on behalf of ELW module Liquid Waterproofing during the Flat Roof Specialist training of BEVAD and ie-net!
It is essential that a flat roof is properly sealed. That’s why roofers and engineers need to be adequately trained. We are happy to be the solution in that regard. As such, on 11 September 2018, IKO gave contractors and engineers a training course on liquid waterproofing, on behalf of ELW and as part of the BEVAD and ie-net Flat Roof Specialist course.
Liquid waterproofing
This programme covers the various facets of flat roofs. IKO was responsible for the Liquid Waterproofing module. Christophe Bisschops of IKO explained to the participants all the benefits and applications of working with liquid waterproofing. Practical aspects were also covered. The participants rolled up their sleeves themselves to work on difficult roof details correctly, making them seamless and watertight. This included raised edges, interior and exterior angles, ventilation pipes, skylights, etc.
For contractors and engineers
The Flat Roof Specialist training course is organised every year by the association of flat roof contractors (BEVAD) and the network of engineers (ie-net). This course provides a comprehensive insight into various materials, techniques and solutions for constructing flat roofs. Participants are taught theory, knowledge of legislation and practical exercises. Case studies and visits to manufacturers are also part of the programme. As such, all participants receive comprehensive, high-quality training that provides them with valuable knowledge.
Training from the sector
Our entire sector recognises the importance of well-trained professionals. IVP, which represents Belgian manufacturers and importers of paints, varnishes, printing inks and paints for the fine arts, has set up the working group ELW for liquid waterproofing for this purpose, among other things. The aim is to promote the sector and work on its image. Providing training is an important part of this.
